Overview

Germany’s Rhine Valley, the fairytale-like world of forested hillsides, medieval castles and the expansive Rhine River, is the backdrop for Wagner’s legendary hero in Siegfried’s Rhine Journey. Exploring the region alongside his wife Clara inspired Robert Schumann’s Rhenish Symphony, which features country dances and evokes Cologne’s majestic cathedral. Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz pays tribute to Clara through a titular work celebrating the artist’s genius, tenacity and influence on Robert.

Tickets are free; reservations are required.
