What inspires your love of music?
Music is a universal language that unites us in our common humanity, transcending political, geographical and cultural differences. It renews your spirit and lends so much beauty to our world. It brings you on a magical journey and for a couple of hours you can escape from the world. Music is meant to be shared. Our very talented musicians joyfully share their love of music. We, therefore, should share our love of music with our city. Music gives soul and character to our city.
What initially drew you to the CSOA/Civic Orchestra of Chicago?
Catherine’s mother fortunately shared her love of music with her in the form of piano instruction. We both appreciate how the CSO/Civic bring music into our communities extending beyond the concert hall.
Why do you feel it’s important to support the CSO as a member of the Theodore Thomas Society?
We are uplifted every time that we attend a Civic performance to see the diversity of the audiences. We support the CSO/Civic as a Theodore Thomas Society member because we believe that music is essential in our society and music develops life skills in our children.
