CANCELED: Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali

Mar 14, 2025

Overview

The Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali concert on March 14 will no longer take place because the artists have canceled their US tour.

In partnership with the South Asia Institute

Furthering the worldwide legacy of their renowned uncle and tutor, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, brothers Rizwan and Muazzam Mujahid Ali Khan are leading torchbearers of Qawwali, a centuries-old form of Sufi devotional music from South Asia. Supported by pulsing rhythmic hand claps and an ensemble of harmonium and tabla, “Rizwan and Muazzam’s voices climb and swoop as if riding air currents” (BBC).
