Overview

Legendary violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter joins the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and conductor Ken-David Masur for an evening dedicated to the music of John Williams. The program includes the CSO premiere of his Violin Concerto No. 2, written for and performed by Mutter with “astonishing technical control and absolute musical drive” (The Guardian). Also hear highlights from his iconic film scores including selections from the Harry Potter and Star Wars sagas.

Please note: Due to a recent health concern, from which he is expected to make a full recovery, John Williams is unable to conduct the concert with Anne-Sophie Mutter at Symphony Center on October 22, 2024. At Mr. Williams’ request, Maestro Ken-David Masur has graciously agreed to conduct the concert.
