Overview

The 2022 Chicago Youth in Music Festival and National Pathways Summit come to a close with an open rehearsal led by CSO Music Director Riccardo Muti. Comprised of extraordinary young musicians from across the country sitting side-by-side with musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra and Chicago Sinfonietta, the Festival Orchestra celebrates youth whose life passion is music. This event is presented in partnership with the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative and the National Instrumentalist Mentoring and Advancement Network.

Free and open to the public with reservations required.

Event update: The CSO’s Zell Music Director Riccardo Muti will lead this side-by-side orchestra of more than 100 musicians to conclude his current residency in Chicago and as part of his ongoing commitment to training the next generation of musicians. Muti, who tested positive for COVID-19 on April 4, has tested negative and been cleared to resume his activities in accordance with CDC guidelines and CSOA safety protocols.
