Overview

The Civic Orchestra of Chicago, led by rising international star and CSO Sir Georg Solti Conducting Apprentice Lina González-Granados, performs a vibrant program featuring Rimsky-Korsakov’s iconic tone poem. Based on the alluring character and storyteller of The Thousand and One NightsSheherazade brings the enchanting Middle Eastern folk tales to life. Preceding Sheherazade is Gabriela Lena Frank’s Three Latin American Dances, a symphonic celebration of the many musical traditions born of diverse Latin American cultures. The program opens with a special performance from the Kenwood Academy High School Orchestra.
