Before their second concert in Naples, members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra spent Friday and Saturday practicing, enjoying the sunshine and participating in master classes and other community-engagement activities around the city. The latter events were organized by the CSO's Negaunee Music Institute and presented by Artis—Naples.

Friday morning, the Athenaeum Ensemble — consisting of six CSO musicians — traveled to Immokalee High School to conduct sectionals and perform a concert of chamber music for students. Three musicians also led master classes: CSO cello Richard Hirschl on Friday afternoon, and both Principal Clarinet Stephen Williamson and Assistant Concertmaster Yuan-Qing Yu on Saturday afternoon.
