Welcome, Jessie

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Mead Composer-in-Residence, Jessie Montgomery talks easily about the mix of theatrical and musical influences that she consciously summons as she composes. To this day, she finds herself influenced by many different music genres and the ways they "bump into each other," as she puts it: "Different elements competing, but then finding each other, that's interesting to me."
