Join a celebration of Margaret Hillis — the first woman to conduct the CSO and founding director of the Chicago Symphony Chorus from 1957 to 1994. The broadcast features three Grammy-winning selections from Hillis’s extensive discography: Bartók’s Cantata profana led by Pierre Boulez, plus Verdi’s Messa da Requiem and an excerpt from Brahms’s A German Requiem, both led by Sir Georg Solti.
