Bassist Ben Foerster is an active freelance musician in the greater Chicagoland area and throughout the Midwest. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his master’s degree from DePaul University.
He is very excited to return for his third year with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and engage with the Chicago community as a Fellow for the 2023/24 Season. A frequent orchestral performer, Foerster has performed with local orchestras such as the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Des Moines Symphony and Chicago Sinfonietta, and has performed with other American orchestras, including the Kansas City Symphony. A devoted teacher, he serves on the faculty at Elgin Community College.
Foerster has a passion for spreading music of all genres and styles to emerging audiences. He seeks to build new relationships and foster growth and healing through music, investing in the community for the betterment of all.
