Versatile, spontaneous and hard-swinging as ever, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis presents an all-Duke Ellington program packed with masterpieces from throughout his lifetime. Ellington is best remembered for hits such as “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing,” “Sophisticated Lady” and “Mood Indigo.” For one electrifying evening only, join JLCO and Wynton Marsalis for a celebration of one of the most influential figures in American music. Note: Seton Hawkins, director of public programs and education resources at Jazz at Lincoln Center, will lead a preconcert talk from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. on the stage.
