CSO All-Access Chamber Music: Civitas Ensemble at Kehrein Center for the Arts

Mar 22, 2022

Overview

One of “Chicago’s finest and most adventurous chamber groups” (Chicago Classical Review), the Civitas Ensemble performs selections from two of the most prolific composers of the late 18th century. Showcasing the entire ensemble, this free concert features Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Nonet in F Minor, as well as more intimate selections from the composer’s rhythmic and soulful Five Negro Melodies for Piano Trio paired with Dvořák’s dark and dramatic Piano Trio in F Minor.

This event takes place at Kehrein Center for the Arts in the Austin neighborhood.

Parking is available on a limited, first-come first-served basis in the lot directly north of the Kehrein Center for the Arts (entrance off Parkside Ave.), the lot to the northeast of the building (entrance off Central Ave.), and the lot on the northeast corner of Washington Blvd. and Central Ave (entrance off Central Ave.).

Kehrein Center for the Arts is also accessible via the Central stop on the CTA Green Line.
