The CSO’s musicians present 14 masterclasses at Oklahoma State Univ.

While in Stlllwater, Oklahoma, the last stop on their 2025 U.S. Winter Tour, Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians conducted 14 masterclasses Jan. 23-24 on the campus of Oklahoma State University, with students from OSU and other local colleges and area high schools. The sessions were presented by the Negaunee Music Institute at the Chicago Symphony Orechestra.

Participating were CSO musicians John Sharp, principal cello; Michael Mulcahy, acting associate principal trombone; Stefán Ragnar Höskuldsson, principal flute; Cynthia Yeh, principal percussion; Danny Lai, viola; William Welter, principal oboe; Mark Almond, principal horn; Stephen Williamson, principal clarinet; Timothy McAllister, guest saxophone; Yuan-Qing Yu, assistant concertmaster; Alexander Hanna, principal bass; Gene Pokorny, principal tuba; Keith Buncke, principal bassoon, and Mark Ridenour, assistant principal trumpet.
