The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Riccardo Muti concluded their multi-day residency, presented by Artis—Naples, with a second concert Saturday, March 4, at Frances Pew Hayes Hall in Naples.
It also marked the end of the second leg of the CSO’s 2023 North American Tour, which began in January and then resumed last week a concert in Kansas City, followed by four concerts across Florida. Along with the performances, CSO musicians participated in master classes and community-engagement activities organized by the CSO’s Negaunee Music Institute, and in Naples, by Artis—Naples.
For the final concert, Muti and the CSO performed Beethoven’s Seventh and Prokofiev’s Fifth symphonies, with the latter featuring Hayes Hall’s mighty Casavant Frères pipe organ.
After returning to Orchestra Hall, the CSO will perform an all-Dvořák program under esteemed maestro Herbert Blomstedt in concerts March 9-12.
