January brings a rare hibernal residency with Riccardo Muti, as he leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Handel and Vivaldi. Muti returns again in February for concerts with stellar pianist Mitsuko Uchida (Feb. 17-19) and then Beethoven's mighty Ninth Symphony (Feb. 24-27).
