Benny Goodman in Nielsen and Weber

Benny Goodman recorded Nielsen's Clarinet Concerto in June 1966 for RCA. The release also included the composer's Second Symphony, and both were conducted by Morton Gould.

Legendary clarinetist Benny Goodman appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the 1960s, performing and recording concertos by Nielsen and Weber. This program also includes overtures by Weber and Nielsen’s Second Symphony, and Goodman confirms his “King of Swing” title with a jazzy encore: Fred Fisher’s Chicago (That Toddlin’ Town).
