This week, we celebrate guest soloists with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The program begins with Jascha Heifetz in Sibelius’ Violin Concerto led by Walter Hendl, followed by Yvonne Minton in Mahler’s Songs of a Wayfarer under Sir Georg Solti. Next, Byron Janis solos in Strauss’ Burleske with Fritz Reiner, and the broadcast concludes with Jacqueline du Pré in Dvořák’s Cello Concerto under Daniel Barenboim.
