This week, we celebrate some of the legendary guest conductors who have led the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since the beginning of the ensemble’s history. The program begins with Leopold Stokowski leading Khachaturian’ Symphony No. 3, followed by John Williams conducting his Suite from Memoirs of a Geisha for Cello and Orchestra, featuring Yo-Yo Ma, and Neeme Järvi conducting Kodály’s Dances of Galánta. The broadcast concludes with Franck’s Symphony in D Minor, conducted by Pierre Monteux.
