Visiting Chicago
A Chicago Bucket-list Experience
No trip to Chicago is complete without a Chicago Symphony Orchestra concert. With a recording history that includes 65 Grammy Awards, this storied ensemble promises a live concert experience where extraordinary musicians transform notes on a page into living, breathing art in historic Orchestra Hall, located on Michigan Avenue.
The spring 2025 program schedule includes opportunities to hear the CSO in some of its most anticipated concerts of the season. Zell Music Director Designate Klaus Mäkelä, recognized by The New York Times as “perhaps the fastest-rising conductor of his generation,” leads the CSO in music of Mahler, Dvořák and Boulez, as well as Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto featuring CSO Artist-in-Residence Daniil Trifonov as soloist. Audiences also get to hear the only American orchestra invited to perform at the third Mahler Festival in Amsterdam in an exclusive Chicago preview of Mahler’s Sixth and Seventh symphonies, under the baton of Jaap van Zweden, before the festival in mid-May.
It’s time to cross another item off of your bucket list. Reserve your seats and head to Chicago, where live music moves beyond sound to stir the spirit.
