John Beasley

Pianist, composer and arranger John Beasley has forged a career brimming with accomplishments that bridge musical and visual media. An uncommonly versatile pianist, Beasley, while in his 20s, backed jazz icons Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard.

Since then, he has performed with Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Chaka Khan, Kenny Garrett and Stanley Clarke. He even performed one concert with James Brown reviving Brown’s Soul on Top big band music.

Beasley’s extensive work as a composer and arranger extends far beyond jazz, with many credits in television and film, including blockbuster movies scored by 15-time Oscar nominee Thomas Newman. Beasley’s 20-plus recordings have earned him two Grammy Awards, along with 12 nominations, and two  Latin Grammy nominations.
