Hailed for her “fearless, powerful, and intensely musical” playing (International Trumpet Guild Journal), Sarah Heimberg is a commanding solo, chamber, and orchestral trumpeter in Chicago, IL. An active recitalist, Sarah enjoys curating creative and dynamic programs. Recent guest soloist appearances include the Northwestern Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Northwestern Brass Ensemble, and a solo recital at the International Trumpet Guild Conference. She was a finalist in the 2024 Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Competition, and a prize winner in the 2024 and 2026 Roger Voisin International Trumpet Competitions.
Sarah has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Grand Rapids Symphony, and is a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra. Sarah joins the Civic Orchestra of Chicago Fellowship Program in the fall. She has also appeared as a guest artist with Seraph Brass, Third Coast Brass, and the Rembrandt Chamber Musicians. Sarah holds degrees from the New England Conservatory and the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music.
Outside of music, Sarah loves reading, trying new restaurants, and dancing with her cat, Azalea.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
I am so exited to collaborate with the other Fellows on projects like the Chicago Refugee Coalition and Notes for Peace, and witness firsthand the impact music can have on community.
