Box Office & Ticket Information

Tickets can be purchase online, over the phone by calling 312-294-3000, or in person at the Box Office, located at 220 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60604.

Regular Phone Hours: Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Regular Box Office Hours:Monday – Saturday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Phone hours are extended until the start of performances on concert nights, and the Box Office is open until the end of intermission. Our ticketing offices are closed on Sundays without scheduled events. 

The Symphony Store

The Symphony Store, located at the Adams Street entrance to Symphony Center, is your one stop shop for creative gifts for the musicians in your life. From iconic Chicago Symphony Orchestra recordings to fine jewelry and scarves from around the world, the store is stocked with music-themed products for music lovers of all ages.

Regular Store Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The store is open through intermission on most concert nights and opens at 1:30 p.m. on select Sundays with performances. For more information, call 312-294-3345. 

Opus Restaurant and Café

Opus Restaurant and Café is Symphony Center’s onsite dining option available for any patron. 

Two preconcert dining times are available for most performances, featuring a prix-fixe menu. Advance reservations are encouraged as space is limited for each seating. Reservations can be made online or by calling 312-500-OPUS (6787). 

During the day, the café offers lighter fare with coffee and tea service. 

Concessions

Concessions are located at the Rotunda Bass Bar and on the Main Floor, Box Level and fifth- and sixth-floor lobbies. 

Coat & Bag Check

Coat Checks are located on the Main Floor, Lower Balcony, Terrace and fifth- and sixth-floor lobbies. To ensure a comfortable concert experience for all patrons, Symphony Center requires checking backpacks or larger items that do not easily fit below your seat. 

Medical Needs

House doctors are in attendance at most concerts. If medical care is needed, please inform an usher. 

Lost and Found

To claim a lost item at a concert, you can speak with an usher or visit the lobby security desks for assistance. For additional inquiries, call 312-294-3000.

Venue & Ticketing Policies

Late Seating

Late seating is at the discretion of house management and may not be available for certain programs and seating locations. For most concerts, late seating opportunities are between pieces or at intermission. 

Box Level Seating

Seating in the boxes is general admission. It has been the long-standing tradition at Symphony Center to rotate seats within boxes at intermission. 

Electronic Devices

Cell phones, pagers and all other mobile devices must be turned off or silenced prior to entering Orchestra Hall. The use of such devices during the performance is not permitted. Photography and video recording are prohibited during the performance.

Bringing Children to Symphony Center

All children must have their own tickets for all performances. Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Symphony Center Presents concerts are recommended for ages 8 and up. Infants are not admitted. CSO Family Matinee Series concerts are recommended for ages 5 and up. Once Upon a Symphony concerts are recommended for ages 3–5. 

Fees, Exchanges and Ticket Donations

Fees may apply for any ticket purchase and additional fees may apply for select delivery methods. Ticket exchanges are permitted before the performance date and additional fees may apply. Tickets can also be turned back in as a donation and made available for resale. Ticket donations may be eligible for a tax deduction.
