Overview

“The Civitas Ensemble is among Chicago’s finest and most adventurous chamber groups.” (Chicago Classical Review)

In the acoustic warmth of Anderson Chapel, the Civitas Ensemble traces an arc from the shadowed intensity of Bartók to the radiant lyricism of Fauré. Bartók’s early quintet unfolds as if in one continuous, sweeping movement, while Fauré’s late masterwork blends youth and serenity with a subtle and inexplicable sense of mystery and revelation.

Tickets are free; reservations are required. Reservations open on Friday, February 6.
