Overview

Composer Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) curates and performs in a program featuring his “inventive and energetic music” (The New York Times). From the soul-stirring melodies of String Quartet No. 5 — dedicated to the memory of Rosa Parks and to courageous women everywhere — to a world premiere commissioned by the CSO, Roumain’s evocative compositions offer a showcase of innovation. Allison Loggins-Hull’s Homeland, inspired by the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, explores the concept of home during crisis. Brittany J. Green’s shift.unravel.BREAK embodies its title, through the use of musical elements forming and shifting around the ensemble, and creates an immersive and dynamic experience.
