Overview
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis joins forces with Naseer Shamma, Iraqi oud virtuoso, composer, educator and UNESCO Artist for Peace. Featuring new works by Marsalis, Shamma and other JLCO members, the program is a celebration of Arab music and the tradition of swing in a collaboration unlike any other. Note: Seton Hawkins, director of public programs and education resources at Jazz at Lincoln Center, will lead a preconcert talk from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. on the stage.
