CSO: Richard Strauss

In 1900, first music director Theodore Thomas led the CSO in the U.S. premiere of Richard Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben, and in 1954, the Orchestra committed the work to disc under the baton of sixth music director Fritz Reiner for RCA.
