The Civic Season

More than perhaps any annual line-up before it, the 2021-22 season of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago puts an emphasis on diversity, with a variety of works by women and people of color. Ken-David Masur, the Civic’s principal conductor, describes this season’s programming as “normalizing the call to give voice to musicians and composers who perhaps had been neglected.”
