2022/23 Season

Riccardo Muti pays tribute next season to his remarkable bond with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. His concerts combine classics with discoveries and reunite him with longtime colleagues and friends. Each program highlights a different aspect of the Muti-CSO partnership, reviving signature pieces and showcasing the ensemble’s principal players. Muti will revisit key works from his Chicago years: Mussorgsky’s Pictures from an Exhibition, which capped his first concert with the CSO in 1973 at Ravinia, and Respighi’s Pines of Rome, the  finale of his first concert as music director, in Millennium Park in 2010. Throughout the season, he and the CSO celebrate the power of their music-making that has galvanized audiences over the last 13 years.
