Classical music lovers came to Orchestra Hall dressed to the nines on Saturday for a sold-out Symphony Ball concert celebrating a new season of music with the CSO. After photos on the Michigan Avenue red carpet and a champagne toast, the concert commenced with a stellar performance of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with special guest Leonidas Kavakos. Four instrumental selections from select Italian operas followed, before gala attendees were whisked off to The Four Seasons Hotel for an evening of dancing and cameraderie to support the CSO’s artistic, community and educational engagement programs.
