Notes for Peace is an initiative of the Negaunee Music Institute at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra that empowers parents who have lost children to gun violence to create original songs of tribute. Since the project began in 2018, more than 90 songs have been written.
Parents and family members from Purpose Over Pain, a support organization for families who have lost loved ones to gun violence, work with Civic Fellows to write, record and perform their songs.
Listen below to the 15 new songs that were written during the 2022-23 Season.
