Teresa Reilly

Clarinetist Teresa Reilly earned her Master of Music at Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Science in Music at DePaul University. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Reilly has performed in the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, the Fontana Chamber Arts concert series, the La Jolla Music Society SummerFest, Princeton University Concerts, the Ravinia Festival, St. James Cathedral concert series, University of Chicago Presents and University Musical Society of Ann Arbor. Together with clarinetist John Bruce Yeh, erhu virtuoso Wang Guowei and pipa virtuoso Yang Wei, Ms. Reilly founded Birds and Phoenix, a unique quartet dedicated to bridging Eastern and Western musical cultures.

As a freelance musician, Ms. Reilly performs regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and other Chicago-area ensembles. She can be heard on various CSO Resound recordings and seen on the CSOtv Sessions of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet and Mozart’s Gran Partita. Ms. Reilly’s clarinet playing, as well as her composition The Forgiveness Train, are featured on the 2023 Cedille Records release Chicago Clarinet Classics. She is also featured on the 2007 recording Synergy on the Naxos label. With Birds and Phoenix Ms. Reilly recorded Composer and Conductor Victoria Bond’s quartet, Bridges, released by Albany Records on the album Peculiar Plants. A passionate and committed music educator, Ms. Reilly serves on the Artist-Faculty of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
