Yevgeny Faniuk enjoys a rich and versatile career as an orchestral musician. Former principal flute with the Princeton Symphony, Reading Symphony and Glimmerglass Festival orchestras, he also is a regular guest member with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Faniuk also has appeared as a guest principal with the Israel Philharmonic and on tour with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Faniuk has been a top prize winner of Flute Talk magazine contests and the New York Flute Club competitions, as well as several events in Israel, including the First Haifa International and the Jerusalem Young Artists competitions. He has been a longtime member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra in Switzerland. In the United States, he completed his music degrees with Linda Chesis and Jeanie Baxtresser at Manhattan School of Music and Carnegie Mellon University.
Appointed to the position of assistant principal flute by Riccardo Muti in 2022, Faniuk served in the Chicago Symphony for two seasons, through June 2024.
