Sava Velkoff is a Violist from Kalamazoo, Michigan. She attended Western Michigan University and graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance in 2022. She completed her Master of Music degree in Orchestral Studies in 2024 at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts. Sava’s mentors include Li-Kuo Chang, Roger Chase, Igor Fedotov and Lawrence Neuman.
Sava has been featured as a soloist with multiple orchestras including the Kent Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, the Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra and the Chicago College of Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra. Sava is a passionate chamber musician and continually seeks opportunities to connect with others through music. She has collaborated in the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival, the Vienna Summer Music Festival, the Berlin Opera Academy, the Opera Festival Chicago, the Pacific Music Festival and has formed and joined numerous independent chamber ensembles throughout the Midwest. Sava is a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago as well as the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.
During her undergraduate studies, Sava began teaching violin and viola lessons for all ages and skill levels at Marshall Music Co’s School of Music and currently continues to teach privately in Chicago.
