One of the founding voices of bebop in the 1940s and ’50s, Charlie Parker reinvented jazz through his solos and compositions, creating an impact that endures to this day. Rudresh Mahanthappa, “jaw-dropping … one of the finest saxophonists going” (Pitchfork), and three-time Grammy® Award-winning drummer and producer Terri Lyne Carrington co-direct this tribute to “Bird.”

Sean Jones is one of the most in-demand trumpeters performing in jazz today. His quartet makes its Symphony Center debut in what promises to be “a convergence of virtuosity, musicality and sensitivity” (Chicago Tribune).
