We regret that the April 19 Zakir Hussain and the Masters of Percussion concert has been canceled due to the strike by CSO musicians. Patrons holding tickets to these canceled concerts are able to exchange their tickets for upcoming Symphony Center performances, may donate their tickets to the CSO, or may receive a refund.  Ticket holders are asked to contact Patron Services at 312-294-3000 or by email, mentioning your patron ID, concert date, and request. In addition, will have the most up-to-date information and updates for patrons about the status of future concerts.

Celebrated as the greatest living master of the tabla and one of the architects of modern world music, Zakir Hussain returns with his international ensemble, including fifth-generation sitar master Niladri Kumar and drummer Eric Harland, who has performed with today’s best jazz groups. The Drummers of Kerala bring the state of Kerala’s vibrant percussion traditions from India to Symphony Center for an entirely unforgettable experience.

At 68, tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain insists he’s still growing, learning and sharing. “Miles to go before I sleep,” he said. “There are many masters I want to collaborate with and learn from. I am only now beginning to get a deeper insight into the music of masters I have worked with over the past decades. I feel I can be a better accompanist to them now than I was before.” Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories
