In addition, will have the most up-to-date information and updates for patrons about the status of future concerts.

One of the world’s most sought-after pianists with “virtuosity beyond his years” (Los Angeles Times), Benjamin Grosvenor makes his CSO debut with Chopin’s elegant First Piano Concerto. Esteemed conductor Emmanuel Krivine leads Zemlinsky’s lavishly scored symphonic fantasy The Mermaid, based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

Additional Dates for this Program

Although obviously excited about his debuts with top-level orchestras, young British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor tries to treat such high-profile events like any other performance. “Whatever concert you play, you have an equal desire for it to go well and for you to play well," he said. "So I wouldn’t say that they are any different, actually.” Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories

Unlike other virtuosos, Benjamin Grosvenor believes it makes more sense to play pianos that “live in” in the concert halls where he performs. “If you are touring with your own piano, it would sound very different in every space," he said. "Also, there is something nice about sitting down and getting to know this very different beast and exploring its possibilities." Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories
