Multi-instrumentalist Jon Batiste, a New Orleans-raised Juilliard grad and current bandleader on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” joins Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra for a special evening at Symphony Center. This incredible group of musicians performs songs from the recently released album, The Music of John Lewis, dedicated to the massively influential late leader of the Modern Jazz Quartet.

Approximate concert duration: 100 minutes with no intermission

To help launch a new podcast series for the Atlantic magazine, keyboard virtuoso Jon Batiste has reinterpreted “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” a Civil War-era song that was adopted a century later as an anthem for the civil rights movement. Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories
