Schumann, Widmann, Stravinsky
Sunday, May 20, 2018
Yefim Bronfman returns with a program that pairs Schumann's romantic Humoreske with a modern take of the same work by Jörg Widmann, Eleven Humoresques, which The Arts Desk calls “Schumann through a glass darkly.” Bronfman's commanding technique is not to be missed. “Bronfman is the Mt. Fuji of pianists. He radiates majestic calm—until he reminds you that he is a volcano” (Los Angeles Times).
Approximate concert duration: 125 minutes including intermission
Widmann Eleven Humoresques
