Feb 23

8:00 PM

Friday, February 23, 2018

Chucho Valdés, “one of the greatest treasures of the music world” (DownBeat) and bandleader of the landmark Cuban ensemble Irakere, has a long family lineage on the Havana music scene. Gonzalo Rubalcaba also grew up in Havana admiring Valdés’ work and has toured the world, developing his own distinctive voice. Together these two Afro-Cuban piano masters forge a brilliant dialogue, “tossing sly musical one-liners back and forth” (The New York Times).

Approximate concert duration: 100 minutes with no intermission

To be announced from stage.
