More than 110 years after the Chicago String Quartette, one of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's first chamber groups, played Saturday-morning concerts in Orchestra Hall, CSO musicians continue to bring standard repertoire as well as contemporary chamber music from around the world to the city. Sustaining that long tradition, the CSO launches another season of All-Access, the CSO’s free chamber music series, on Oct. 29. "Chamber music is an intimate and personal way to make music," said CSO viola Diane Mues. "As with social groups, an orchestra provides the rush of energy that’s possible in a large gathering, while a trio or quartet is like a cozy dinner party." Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories
