Piano virtuoso Oscar Peterson has influenced the most celebrated jazz artists in the world. In honor of what would have been Oscar’s 90th birthday in 2015, his widow Kelly Peterson created an “extraordinarily beautiful” (The Los Angeles Times) tribute to her late husband by recording some of the world’s greatest jazz pianists performing Oscar’s rarely heard compositions. Now this tribute to a towering icon comes to Symphony Center with a star-studded lineup of astonishing talent.

Note: Due to speaker placement for this event, patrons in the Terrace will not experience the same high quality of sound as in other areas of Orchestra Hall.

Ramsey Lewis goes even further: "Oscar Peterson is the Michael Jordan and the Muhammad Ali of piano playing all rolled into one. He mastered the instrument, and he was the master of the instrument. You want to hear piano played really well? Oscar's the guy!" Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories >
