When conductor Lionel Bringuier and pianist Yuja Wang join the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on July 11 at the Ravinia Festival, it will be like old home week for the two artists. Bringuier, music director of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich, has collaborated with the superstar keyboardist for about a decade in concertos by composers ranging from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Robert Schumann to Sergei Rachmaninov. Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories

Reflecting on his rapid ascent in the conducting realm, Lionel Bringuier acknowledges that “things went very smoothly for me. I spent six years with the L.A. Philharmonic, and I still go back there as a guest conductor," said the French-born maestro, who's just 30. "This year we are celebrating 10 years of working together! I really love to work in the U.S. Even though I was born in Nice, part of my training was here in the States. I feel very close to this country.”  Read more at CSO Sounds & Stories
