Muti Conducts Verdi Requiem

Riccardo Muti leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in Orchestra Hall

Tenth music director Riccardo Muti—“the greatest Verdi conductor of our time,” according to the Chicago Tribune—opens this program leading the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the composer’s Overture to I vespri siciliani followed by Gli arredi festivi from Nabucco. Muti completes the program with the multiple Grammy Award–winning CSO Resound recording of Verdi’s Requiem, featuring the Chicago Symphony Chorus.
