Elena Stikhina

Following her graduation from The Moscow State Conservatory in 2012, where she studied with Larisa Rudakova, Elena Stikhina went on to win first prize in the Competizione dell’Opera in Linz, Austria in October 2014 and in 2016 was a finalist in Placido Domingo’s Opera Competition ‘Operalia’, winning the Audience Prize and Culturarte Prize.

During her studies, Elena performed the roles of Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, Iolanta in Iolanta, Mimi in La Boheme, and the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro. She also participated in masterclasses of Eugene Onegin at “Operawerkstatt”, directed by Vasily Barkhatov, and Aida at the Beethovenfest, directed by Peter Konwitschny.

In 2014 she was engaged as the soloist at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok, where she performs such roles as Tosca in Tosca (Puccini), Nedda in I Pagliacci (Leonkavallo), Tatiana in Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Micaela in Carmen (Bizet) and Lara in Doctor Zhivago (Lubchenko). 2016 saw her widen her repertoire with debuts there as Lisa in Queen of Spades (Tchaikovsky) and Violetta Valeri in La Traviata (Verdi).

European invitations include her 2015 debut in the title role of Puccini’s Tosca at the Gut Immling Opera Festival and Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen at the Landestheater Salzburg. In 2016 she sang in Wolf-Ferrari’s I Gioelli della Madonna at the Theater Freiburg.

This season will include performances as Leonora in Verdi’s La Forza del Destino at Basel Opera House, Tatyana in the Finnish National Opera’s production of Eugene Onegin and Leonora in Il Trovatore at the Theater Erfurt. She will also perform the title role in Aida on the open air stage at Theater Ulm.

Spring 2018 will see her Paris Opera debut as Leonora in Il Trovatore.
