Alexey Tikhomirov

Russian bass Alexey Tikhomirov graduated from N.G. Zhiganova Kazan State Conservatory in 2006 (professor Y.V. Borisenko). He also studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center in 2004-2006 (professor A. Belousova-Fadeicheva).

From 2005 he is main soloist at Helicon-Opera under leadership of Dmitry Bertman. Amon the engagements of recent years are the roles of Old Man (S. Rachmaninov’s "Aleko", Opera de Lyon, 2011, cond. M. Pletnev), Boris Godunov and Dutchman (Mussorgsky’s "Boris Godunov", 2012 and Wagner’s "The Flying Dutchman", 2013, the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theatre, 2012, cond. M. Güttler), Vodnik (Dvorak’s "Rusalka", the Grand Theatre of Geneva, 2013, cond. D. Jurowski), Ramfis (Verdi's "Aida", the German State Opera, 2014, cond. Z. Mehta), Dosifej (Mussorgsky’s "Khovanshchina", Flemish Opera, 2014, cond. D. Jurowski), Thoas (Gluck’s "Iphigenia in Tauris", Grand Theatre of Geneva, 2015), Boris Timofeyevich Izmailov (Shostakovich’s "Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District", the Opera House Monte Carlo, 2015), Samuel (Verdi’s “Un ballo in maschera”, Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, cond. Z. Metha).

He has performed in many international Theatres in roles such as Sparafucile (Rigoletto) at the Theater G. Verdi in Busseto (Italy), Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) at the Opera House in Limassol (Cyprus, 2007); Sobakin (Tsar's Bride) at the Teatro Massimo Bellini (2008); Ramfis (Aida) at the Royal Opera Queensland in Brisbane (2010); Boris Godunov at Royal Opera of Wallonia (Belgium, 2010) and Municipal Theater of Santiago, Chile (2011); Commendatore (Don Giovanni) at Concert Hall De Dulen (Holland, 2010), the Latvian National Opera (Latvia, 2010), Municipal Theater of Santiago, Chile (2012), Theatre du Capitole de (France, 2013); Wurm (Luisa Miller) at Lyon Opera (2011), Pimen (Boris Godunov) at Bolshoi Theatre (2011-2013) and Timur (Turandot) at the Municipal Theater of Santiago, Chile (2014).

In 2009 he made his debut at the Rome Opera as Agamemnon in Gluck's opera "Iphigenia in Aulis" with R. Muti; also under Maestro Muti he took part in the opera ”Moise et Pharaon” by G. Rossini at the Salzburg Festival, participated in the performance of "Vesperae solennes" by Mozart with Bavaria Radio and Television Orchestra in Munich, and Rossini’s "Stabat Mater" with Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at concert hall Musicverein.

Alexey Tikhomirov is the guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia from 2010 (debut as Sarastro in Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute"). In 2011 he sang Ruslan in Glinka’s "Ruslan and Lyudmila" on the occasion of the grand opening after reconstruction of the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theate.

He constantly cooperates with conductors such as V. Fedoseyev, M. Pletnev, V. Spivakov, V. Jurowski, V. Sinai, D. Jurowski, G. Dmitryak G., R. Muti and others.
