Laura Sauer

Musicologist, mezzo-soprano and violinist Laura Sauer has an extensive background studying and performing classical music in the U.S. and Europe. She holds two Master's Degrees in Musicology and Vocal Performance, both from Northwestern University.

As a mezzo-soprano, Laura has performed with Sarasota, Chautauqua, Des Moines Metro, and Northwestern University Opera companies, as well as several orchestras and ensembles in the U.S. and abroad. She maintains an active performance career in Chicago.

Currently, Laura serves as Audience Development Coordinator & Editor for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and works as a Program Annotator and Preconcert Lecturer for various orchestras. She is also an active contributor to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's online multimedia magazine Sounds and Stories.
