Siamsa na nGael has become a well-known and anticipated event in Chicago, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by presenting unique, world-class Celtic entertainment. The 2017 Siamsa na nGael’s will showcase some of the finest Celtic artists in Chicago and throughout the world.

We are excited about this year’s program, A Bridge Over The Troubles: The Peacemakers.

From the Europe Bridge in Strasbourg, France to the Peace Bridge in Derry, Northern Ireland, hear the stories of those who built bridges of respect and peace between people and chose to live for freedom and peace.  We will celebrate one of those bridge builders — John Hume, who along with his wife Pat and Senator George Mitchell sought a way through “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland and brokered the historic Good Friday Peace Accord of April 10, 1998.  Through story, song and dance we will honor them, and all those who seek peace. We are privileged to welcome Senator George Mitchell as our special guest narrator to tell this important story.

The extraordinary evening will feature performances by the Metropolis Symphony Orchestra, Old St. Patrick's Concert Choir, Trinity Irish Dancers, Irish Trad band, soloists Gavin Coyle, Jared Dixon, Catherine O’Connell, Beverly O’Regan Thiele and many other outstanding musicians.

Tickets for this event go on sale February 1.
