Symphony No. 3 (Eroica)
Rei Hotoda, whose “conducting is a well-
balanced mixture of freedom and control,”
(Columbus Dispatch), leads Civic in Four
Sea Interludes, celebrating the centennial of
Britten’s birth. Beethoven’s Eroica, regarded as
a turning point in music history, is known for
its groundbreaking portrayal of death, rebirth,
strife and resistance.

Yo-Yo Ma, world-renowned cellist, joins Civic
for an exciting collaboration on Strauss’
delightful score depicting the misadventures
