Fritz Lang’s genre-defining science fiction film Metropolis comes to Symphony Center! In this unique event, the CSO will accompany the film with music by composers from the silent film period, including selections from Schoenberg, Grieg and Bartók. “A masterpiece of visionary silent cinema… one of the strangest, most fascinating films ever made, a futuristic nightmare that is both sublime in its grandeur and remarkably intimate in its emotions” (The New York Times).
This performance will be approx. 80 minutes and have no intermission.
