Shaham Plays Bach Six Solos

Mar1
3:00 PM
with original films by David Michalek
Sunday, March 1, 2015

Bach's sublime Sonata and Partitas for Solo Violin are among the most technically demanding and emotionally penetrating works he ever composed. 2012 Musical America Instrumentalist of the Year Gil Shaham plays all six tremendous works in one afternoon, accompanied by projections of visual imagery created by artist David Michalek. "The Illinois-born, Israel-bred violinist could give the inimitable Jascha Heifetz a close race in the razzle dazzle department" (Chicago Tribune).

Note: This program will be approximately 2½ hours long and will include 2 separate intermissions.

Gil Shaham will sign CDs in Grainger Ballroom following his performance.

Enjoy brunch at tesori conveniently located in Symphony Center! Menu and reservations.
